The Tech Wiz is owned and operated by Rick van Vliet.  He is known around town as “the Wizard” and Rick’s Computer Solutions which is what he called his business when he first started in early 2003.  Rick’s fascination with computers began in 1984 when he purchased his first Macintosh with 128K of RAM (Now our computers have RAM in the Gigabytes…millions of times the RAM from the early 80’s!)   It was more of a hobby back then but Rick was definitely a go-to person if you had computer questions, even in the early days of PC’s and Macs.   After a career in the hospitality industry and ten years in the wholesale wine business, Rick decided to follow his interest in computers and go back to college to get his certifications.

After three mergers and acquisitions in the corporate world,  Rick decided to pursue his dream of going into business for himself.  He began by helping friends and family with technology needs…and through word of mouth his business continued to grow and expand into helping small businesses with technology services.  He recently changed his business name to The Tech Wiz to allow for continued growth and opportunity.
